Condor Electronics group has officially opened two showrooms in Tlemcen, the first in Oujlida and the second in Maghnia as part of its commercial policy in order to widen its presence across the country and to be closer to customers . After the launch of new Condor Electronics products, Mr. Benhamadi Abderrahmane, chairman of the board of directors, continues the development of the company with the opening of two new showrooms in the wilaya of Tlemcen. Many guests attended the opening ceremony of the new showrooms, which allows to be closer to regional customers. "The opening of showrooms is part of the desire to boost the segment and to move towards the competition with the imported products which is often of a lower quality", said the CEO of Condor Electronics. " We work to continuously expand our distribution network to reach a target of 150 showrooms across the country", he added. In a press statement, Mr. Benhamadi highlighted that " Condor works for the transfer of technologies to take up the challenge, with Algerian hands, in order to locally manufacture all components of computers, with the Algerian prize of quality".
When asked about local investment, Mr. Benhamadi declared that "the right decisions exists but laws are not enforced." Highlighting that "the real problem is the industrial land", the head manager of the group estimated that "there should be more encouragement for local investors." On the issue of future projects of its company, he assessed that "the year 2013 was successful when it comes to deploying and launching of new products", specifying that "2014 will be a year devoted for the development of local content, which will allow to create more jobs for young people."
Regarding new products, Mr. Benhamadi announced that "mobile phones which meet the international standards will be the cheapest of the whole Algerian market and its price will be a big surprise." For the production of this first Algerian mobile phone, the group collaborates with a Chinese company named Hisence which designed the components. "Processors entering in the manufacturing of the mobile phone are of an American origin", said Mr. Abderrahmane Benhamadi, who announced that "the first Algerian GPRS system will be manufactured by our group." Furthermore, as part of its expansion policy, the Algerian leader of household appliance expects to export 5% of its products to Middle Eastern and African countries. The Algerian manufacturer now has 35% of household appliance market share.
One billion dinars invested in the photovoltaic manufactory
As for the production of photovoltaic panels in Bordj Bou Arreridj with the annual capacity of 50 megawatts, Mr. Benhamadi explained: "after the equipments assembly phase, after the completion of civil engineering works early this year, the test phase is completed", he said. "We will begin shortly the production of photovoltaic panels intended for home use." It should be noted that the specialized group invested nearly 950 million dinars in the construction of this manufactory of which the entry into production will create 200 direct jobs, besides jobs to be created in favor of the implementation of subcontracting and distribution networks. Finally, concerning the drugs production, Mr. Benhamadi said " We are in the phase of civil engineering studies." It should be noted that the Algerian group is trying, through this diversification initiative of its investment, to contribute in the efforts aiming to reduce pressure on the Algerian drug market. "This is an opportunity, among others, to limit the volume of imports and to encourage the manufacture of drugs in Algeria, knowing that Algeria broke the record of imports in the field of drugs with a cost of more than 1.1 billion dollars of pharmaceutical products in 6 months only ", finally concluded our interlocutor.
